Regmi calls for support for polls

CHITWAN, April 11: Chairman of Interim Election Council Khil Raj Regmi, indicating that political differences are resulting in difficulty in creating an atmosphere for polls, called on all concerned to help his government conduct new Constituent Assembly elections.



“I hope everybody, irrespective of their ideological beliefs or affiliations, will actively cooperate for holding a free and fair elections,” Regmi said while addressing a public program in Chitwan. This is the first time Regmi has attended a program outside the capital after he assumed the executive role weeks ago. [break]



Inaugurating the international jamboree of scouts in the proposed regional Tikauli stadium, he described youths as the country’s most vital resources and said his government will bring programs focusing on the opportunities for youths. Regmi also underlined the need of having an efficient governance system, which he said would be instrumental in socioeconomic transformation.
