Cut will be applied after completion of 36 holes. The top 21 pros and ties will advance into the final 36 holes along with the amateurs who make the pro cut. A total of 29 professional and 19 amateur golfers are competing in the championship.[break]
The event carries a total cash prize of Rs 467,500. The winner and the runner-up will bag a purse of Rs 88,000 and Rs 55,000 respectively while the third-place finisher will receive Rs 40,000. The top 21 pros will also receive cash prizes.
The event will be important for both amateurs and professionals as the top 30 professionals and top 10 amateurs on the basis of order of merit will make it to the Surya Nepal Masters scheduled to be held from May 8 to 11 at the Gokarna Forest Resort.
Rabi Khadka, Deepak Thapa Magar, Sanjay Lama and Surya Sharma are the title favorites among the professionals. Meanwhile, Nepal No 1 Shivaram Shrestha is not competing as he will be playing in the PGTI event in New Delhi.
Stars of Surya Nepal NGA Golf Development program -- Bikash Bogati, Dinesh Prajapati, Bishnu Sharma, Ashish Pariyar and Michael Rai -- along with Tashi Tshiring will be vying for the amateur title.
