KATHMANDU, June 18: A total of 2,458 drivers were booked for violating traffic rules over the past 24 hours, generating Rs 1,960,502 in revenue for the state.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 155 individuals were penalised for drunk driving, 87 for operating ride-sharing services in violation of regulations, 124 for traffic signal violations, and 157 for overspeeding.


Similarly, 80 drivers were booked for not maintaining lane discipline, 108 for unnecessary honking in prohibited areas, 98 for illegal roadside parking, 22 for operating vehicles without proper mechanical inspection, and 1,627 for various other traffic violations.
