Discussion on Appropriation Bill to continue in HoR today

The House is scheduled to meet at 11:00 am on Wednesday, when concerned ministers will respond to lawmakers’ questions raised during the ministry-wise discussions on the Appropriation Bill.

KATHMANDU, June 17: The House of Representatives (HoR) is set to continue its deliberations on the Appropriation Bill on Wednesday, following discussions on various ministries and constitutional bodies held in Tuesday’s meeting.



Lawmakers had debated budget allocations for the Ministries of Science, Technology and Innovation; Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs; Physical Infrastructure Development; Home Affairs; Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation; Foreign Affairs; Finance; and Defence, along with the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers, the National Planning Commission Secretariat, the Office of the Vice-President, and the Office of the President.

During the session, lawmakers Nitima Bhandari (Karki), Pukar Bam, Ram Lama, Badan Kumar Bhandari, Ankita Thakur, Buddhi Prasad Pant, Dhanendra Karki, Sushant Vaidik, Sulabh Kharel, and Smriti Century expressed their views on ministry-specific budget headings.


The meeting also unanimously passed a condolence resolution following the death of former Member of Parliament Mangal Prasad Gupta.
