About 8–10 years ago, Gurung and two young entrepreneurs initiated a plan to operate 'Adventure Sports Nepal' along the shores of Fewa Lake, aiming to promote adventure tourism in Pokhara.

“Driven by a desire to do something meaningful for the country, we invested significant resources and energy into this project. Before leasing the land, the landowners assured us that it did not fall within the 65-meter protected zone and even showed it as secure in official records. However, later verification by the municipality revealed that it was indeed within the restricted area,” the secretariat quoted Gurung as saying.

Upon discovering the deception, the team immediately halted the project. "I halted all construction and investments on ethical grounds once we discovered the deceitful leasing of the land. The way our dream and investment were manipulated is unacceptable,” he added.

Minister Gurung confirmed that he and his partners are preparing to seek legal action. “We want to inform everyone that we will pursue the strictest legal remedies against this injustice and fraud, without any hesitation,” the secretariat quoted Gurung.
