KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Fusemachines Inc. has opened registration for the 2026 Nepal cohort of its AI Fellowship, a six-month program aimed at developing job-ready artificial intelligence and data science professionals, the company said in a press release.
The company said the fellowship, now in its ninth year, offers its proprietary Microdegree program designed by US university faculty members and AI industry experts. The program targets IT students, professionals and enthusiasts with backgrounds in programming, mathematics, computer science and software development.
Selected candidates will receive full scholarships following a multi-stage selection process, the company said.

According to the press release, the fellowship combines online instruction through its education platform with onsite practical sessions. Participants will receive training in Generative AI, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Prompt Engineering and MLOps, along with core mathematical and programming foundations.
Fusemachines CEO Sameer Maskey said the program reflects the company’s commitment to expanding access to quality AI education beyond geographic boundaries, the press release stated. Likewise, Parag Shrestha, Head of Strategy and Managing Director for South Asia, said the initiative aims to strengthen Nepal’s AI ecosystem and connect regional talent with global opportunities.
Since launching in 2017, the AI Fellowship has trained more than 1,200 fellows across 12 countries, primarily in frontier markets, the company said.
