KATHMANDU, June 2: Nepali Congress (NC) parliamentary leader Vishmaraj Angdembe has made it clear that the party has not formed a 'shadow council of ministers'.

According to him, the party has merely assigned thematic responsibilities to its members in line with the 18 existing government ministries, and in accordance with the party statute.  He stressed that this arrangement should not be interpreted as the formation of a 'shadow government' or a 'shadow council of ministers'.

Stating that the term 'shadow government' was in practice in Nepali politics in the past, he said, however, the NC has not established such a structure this time.
