KATHMANDU, Oct 30: Nepal’s Ambassador to the BENELUX countries and Head of Mission to the European Union Sewa Lamsal officially presented her credentials to King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands at the Noordeinde Palace in The Hague. This marked the start of her diplomatic assignment in the Netherlands.
The ceremony followed full diplomatic protocols including drum rolls, the national anthem of Nepal and inspection of the guard of honour. Afterward, Ambassador Lamsal had a private meeting with the King.

During the meeting, she conveyed greetings from the President and people of Nepal and shared updates about Nepal’s political situation and the formation of the Interim Government. She highlighted the friendly relations between Nepal and the Netherlands and thanked the Netherlands for its development support since diplomatic relations began in 1960.
The ambassador also discussed opportunities to expand trade, tourism, and investment, particularly in sectors such as agriculture, energy, manufacturing, and hospitality. She emphasized the importance of people-to-people ties as a foundation for the bilateral relationship and expressed her commitment to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
On the occasion, King Willem-Alexander congratulated Ambassador Lamsal, shared his best wishes for her tenure and recalled his previous visits to Nepal. The ceremony was attended by senior officials from the Dutch Royal Court and Ambassador Lamsal was accompanied by Aayusha Khanal, Second Secretary from the Nepal Embassy in Brussels.
