KATHMANDU, April 4: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) has dismissed recent media reports alleging that guides in the Everest region intentionally made tourists ill to stage fraudulent rescue operations.



The CIB said its investigations so far have found no evidence to support these claims. It warned that publishing or broadcasting such unverified and misleading content through media or social media is illegal and urged the public and media outlets to refrain from doing so.

Senior Superintendent of Police Shiva Kumar Shrestha, spokesperson for the CIB, said the Bureau remains committed to conducting thorough investigations based on facts and evidence.
