2,535 traffic violators fined in Kathmandu Valley in 24 hours

The violations included 101 incidents of drunk-driving, 129 of ride-sharing against the rules, 106 of traffic signal violations and 138 incidents of over-speeding.

KATHMANDU, June 17: A total of 2,535 vehicles were fined for violating traffic rules in the past 24 hours. The Kathmandu Traffic Police Office said that revenue of over Rs 1.9 million was deposited into the state treasury from the fines.

The violations included 101 incidents of drunk-driving, 129 of ride-sharing against the rules, 106 of traffic signal violations and 138 incidents of over-speeding.


Likewise, 81 cases were recorded for breaching lane discipline, 141 for honking in prohibited areas, 117 for parking on roadsides, 113 for driving against one-way traffic and 1,609 other breaches.
