KATHMANDU, Nov 9: Brahmin and Chhetri candidates account for the highest number of applicants in various examinations conducted by the Public Service Commission (PSC).
The PSC stated this in its annual report for fiscal year 2024/25 submitted to President Ram Chandra Paudel a few days ago. As per the report, a majority of applicants for PSC exams belonged to the Brahmin and Chhetri communities.

According to the report, 23.8 percent of applicants were Brahmins and 18.25 percent were Chhetris. Of the 459,834 applications received that year, the highest share came from Brahmin (Hill), Chhetri, Tharu, Yadav, and Magar communities, respectively.
Punjabi/Sikh, Lohorung, and foreign nationals recorded the least number of applications, with only two each.
