KATHMANDU, May 26: The Cricket Association of Nepal has divided 38 male and 25 female cricket players into different categories for the year 2026.
A press release issued by the CAN on Monday stated that the cricketers have been divided into different categories based on their performance and contribution.
Regarding male cricketers, Captain Rohit Kumar Poudel, Dipendra Singh Airee and Sandeep Lamichhane have been categorized in the 'A+' category, while Sompal Kami, Asif Sheikh, Kushal Bhurtel and Karan KC are placed in the 'A' category.
Similarly, Lalit Narayan Rajbanshi, Arif Sheikh, Bhim Sarki, Nandan Yadav and Gulshan Jha have been placed in the 'B' category, while Sandip Jora, Arjun Kumal, Kushal Malla, Sher Malla, Ishan Pandey, Basir Ahmed, Lokesh Bam, Shahad Alam, Hemant Dhami, Binod Bhandari and Anil Sah are in the 'C' category.
Male-female ratio at birth widening
Trita Raj Das, Rashid Khan, Santosh Yadav, Narayan Joshi, Bipin Khatri, Rijan Dhakal, Yubraj Khari, Dev Khanal, Pawan Sarraf, Akash Chand, Dipak Dumre, Arjun Gharti, Arjun Saud, Prtaish GC and Sagar Dhakal have been placed in the 'D' category.
Meanwhile, female cricketers Indu Barma, Puja Mahato, Rubina Chhetri and Sita Rana Magar have been categorized in the 'A' category, while Kabita Kunwar, Samjhana Khadka and Manisha Upadhyay are in the 'B' category.
The CAN has included Indu Rawal, Kabita Joshi, Ruby Podar and Riya Sharma in the 'C' category while Roshani Thapa, Suman Bista, Ishwori Bista, Sonu Pakhrin, Sana Ptabin, Sabitri Dhami, Kajal Shrestha, Sima KC, Anu Kadayat; Yashoda Bista, Laxmi Saud, Mamata Chaudhary, Asmina Karmacharya, and Rachana Chaudhary are in the 'D' category.
The CAN has decided to provide a Rs 120,000 monthly salary to male players placed in the 'A+' category
Similarly, the male players placed in the 'A' category would be provided with a Rs 100,000 monthly salary. In contrast, players categorized in the 'B' category would get Rs 75,000 per month, players placed in the 'C' category would get Rs 55,000, and 'D' class players would receive Rs 35,000.
Regarding female cricketers, players placed in the 'A' category would get a Rs 55,000 monthly salary, while players placed in the 'B' category would receive Rs 40,000.
Similarly, female cricketers categorized in group 'C' would get Rs 30,000, and Rs 25,000 would be provided to players placed in group 'D'.
