KATHMANDU, Oct 15: Co-ordinator of the CPN (Maoist Centre) Pushpa Kamal Dahal has hinted at the possibility of party unification with the CPN-UML—but only if KP Sharma Oli is no longer its leader.

Speaking at a gathering in Benighat Rorang, Dhading, Dahal said the Maoist Centre will prioritize the upcoming elections as its main political agenda. “The new line for the Maoist party is the election,” he said.

Dahal further mentioned that efforts toward unity among parties within the Socialist Front would begin soon after Tihar. Discussing the prospects of joining hands with the UML, he said, “As long as KP Oli leads the UML, unity is not possible. But if there is a change in leadership, the door to unification could open.”

During his interaction with youth leaders and party cadres, Dahal expressed that the younger generation has started to understand and align with Maoist ideology. “I have been holding discussions with Gen-Z youths as well. They are beginning to realize that the Maoist movement was on the right path,” he said.

He also directed party members to prepare strategically for the upcoming elections.
