KATHMANDU, March 5: Former Minister for Communications and Information Technology Jagdish Kharel has cast his vote in Lalitpur Constituency-2 in the House of Representatives election.
Kharel voted at 7:07 AM on Thursday at the Mahadev Temple polling center in Bojhe Pokhari, located in Mahalaxmi Municipality. According to the election officer, he was the first voter to cast his ballot at the polling center.

Speaking briefly to journalists after voting, Kharel urged all voters to exercise their democratic right.
“I have cast my vote. I urge all of you to participate in the voting as well,” he said.
Kharel is contesting the House of Representatives election from Lalitpur Constituency-2 for the first time. He has appealed to all voters to regard the election as a festival of democracy and to help ensure that voting is completed in a peaceful atmosphere.
Voting began at 7 AM across the country, including in Lalitpur Constituency-2. Polling centers have witnessed encouraging voter participation since the morning. The Election Commission has stated that preparations have been made to complete the voting peacefully and in an orderly manner within the scheduled time.
