Kathmandu, Sept 16: Energy Minister Kulman Ghising has directed the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to immediately remove the minister's unit set up on the premises of the NEA’s head office.
Sending a letter through the Energy Secretary on Tuesday, Ghising asked to remove the office set up for the minister inside the NEA. Former Energy Minister Deepak Khadka had ordered an office to be prepared for him overnight in the third week of December 2024, following his tussle with Ghising, who was then NEA’s executive director.

While Ghising was out of Kathmandu, Khadka had asked NEA’s officials to set up the office despite reservations expressed by the NEA employees. On his visit to the NEA’s head office at Ratna Park, Kathmandu, on Monday, the NEA employees urged Ghising to remove the office immediately.
In response, Ghising sent a letter stating that he does not need an office on the NEA premise.
