KATHMANDU, Feb 23: Gold and silver prices climbed sharply in the domestic market on Monday, driving bullion rates to fresh highs.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FENEGOSIDA), the price of gold jumped by Rs 3,200 per tola. With the latest increase, hallmark gold is being traded at Rs 313,500 per tola, up from Rs 310,300 per tola on Sunday.

Silver also posted a notable gain. Its price rose by Rs 170 per tola to Rs 5,595, compared to Rs 5,425 a day earlier, the FENESIDA reported.
The surge underscores continued volatility in the bullion market, as traders keep a close watch on international price movements.
