KATHMANDU, Dec 26: The prices of gold and silver in local markets have been rising steadily. Today, both metals saw further increases.
According to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association, the price of hallmarked gold has reached Rs 269,300 per tola, while silver is trading at Rs 4,585 per tola—both marking record highs.

Last Wednesday, hallmarked gold was priced at Rs 268,100 per tola, and silver at Rs 4,420 per tola. On Thursday, both metals saw a slight decline, with gold at Rs 267,500 per tola and silver at Rs 4,400 per tola.
Analysts say the increase in gold and silver prices is linked to the rising value of the U.S. dollar.
Internationally, gold is being traded at USD 4,500 per ounce, while silver of the same quantity is trading at USD 75 per ounce, according to global media reports.
