Insurance claims of damage from Gen Z movement reach Rs 23.22 billion

Insurance companies have received claims for physical and other damages incurred during the recent Gen Z protests amounting to over Rs 23.22 billion.

KATHMANDU, October 9: Insurance companies have received claims for physical and other damages incurred during the recent Gen Z protests amounting to over Rs 23.22 billion.



According to the Nepal Insurance Authority (NIA), non-life insurers received a total of 3,099 insurance claims as of Wednesday. This includes all the records of 14 non-life insurance companies and four micro non-life insurers.

As of now, the insurance companies are reported to have settled a claim amount of Rs. 1.29 billion. The insurers have deployed 2,706 surveyors to prepare damage survey reports. They have submitted 374 survey reports to the concerned insurers.
