KATHMANDU, March 9: According to data from the international organization IQAir, Kathmandu has become the most polluted city in the world. The federal capital’s Air Quality Index (AQI) reached 184, posing serious health risks.
Bangladesh’s Dhaka ranks second with an AQI of 170, while India’s Kolkata comes third with 169.

The primary causes of pollution include the increasing number of vehicles, road expansion, and wildfires. Doctors warn that this level of pollution is particularly hazardous for children, the elderly, and individuals with respiratory conditions.
