KATHMANDU, March 26: Kathmandu University (KU) School of Arts and the Asian Institute of Diplomacy and International Affairs (AIDIA) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to launch a Master’s program in International Affairs, Economy, and Diplomacy (MIAED).
According to a press statement issued by the AIDIA, the collaboration aims to develop a new generation of leaders equipped to navigate 21st-century economic and diplomatic challenges.

The MoU was signed by Dr. Uddhab Pyakurel, Dean of KU’s School of Arts, and AIDIA Founder Sunil KC. Under the agreement, KU will ensure academic quality and degree conferral, while AIDIA will provide a practice-oriented curriculum through its global networks and innovative teaching methods, the press release said.
The press release further stated that the program will feature experiential learning, a hybrid faculty of scholars and practitioners, and technology-enabled classrooms to integrate theory with real-world diplomatic practice. Sunil KC emphasized that economic diplomacy will be a central focus, positioning Nepal as a regional hub for advanced studies in the field.
According to AIDIA, the partnership also aligns with AIDIA’s 12-year vision of combining its think-tank expertise with graduate education to attract students from Nepal and abroad, contributing to the internationalization of higher education in the country.
