Man stabbed to death in land dispute, two arrested

RAUTAHAT, July 8: A 60-year-old man was stabbed to death following a dispute over land in Rautahat district, police said.



The victim, Butan Sah of Auraiya village in Ward No. 3 of Ishnath Municipality, sustained fatal injuries during an argument over a land issue.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 8:15 pm on Tuesday when a heated dispute broke out between Butan Sah and local resident Rameshwar Sah. During the altercation, Rameshwar allegedly attacked Butan with a knife, inflicting multiple stab wounds.


Butan suffered a serious injury to his back and was rushed to the Provincial Hospital in Gaur, where he died at around 9 pm while undergoing treatment.


A police team deployed immediately after the incident arrested two suspects, Ram Maheshwar Sah and Ram Autar Sah, in connection with the stabbing, the District Police Office, Rautahat, said.
