National ID card and passport also valid for voting

For the election scheduled on March 5, the EC has clarified that a national identity card, passport, land ownership certificate, or driving license will also be accepted as valid identification documents for voting.

KATHMANDU, March 3: The Election Commission (EC) has stated that voters must carry their voter ID card or Nepali citizenship certificate to their designated polling centers to cast their votes in the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election.



For the election scheduled on March 5, the EC has clarified that a national identity card, passport, land ownership certificate, or driving license will also be accepted as valid identification documents for voting.


Only those whose names appear on the final voter list published by the EC and who have completed 18 years of age by March 4 will be eligible to vote. Eligible voters must cast their ballots at their assigned polling centers.
