KATHMANDU, March 1: Nepali Congress and Nepali Congress (BP) are set to unify. On Sunday, party president Gagan Thapa took steps to merge Nepali Congress (BP) into the main party. Currently, Sushil Man Sherchan serves as the president of Nepali Congress (BP).
Thapa assigned coordination on the unification process to Sitaram KC, chairman of the Democratic Lawyers Association (DLA) and convener of the party’s election committee. For the merger, KC and senior Congress (BP) leader Karna Bahadur Malla prepared a written agreement.
A forward-thinking move towards a greener future
According to KC, the formal announcement of the unification began during a Nepali Congress rally at Samakhusi Chowk in Kathmandu, with Thapa and Sherchan jointly addressing the gathering.
