KATHMANDU, Mar 11: Nepali Congress lawmaker Gagan Thapa has said that the incumbent government should be accountable towards the public if it fails to fulfill its plans and projects mentioned in the manifestos unveiled during the election.

Speaking during the meeting of the House of Representatives on Sunday, in which PM KP Sharma Oli is seeking the vote of confidence, leader Thapa said “No if, no but, we need work to be done. The incumbent government should be liable to address all the points mentioned in the manifesto of the party. “

Stating that Nepali Congress will play the responsible role of opposition, leader Thapa said that the party will poke the government if it derails from the track. He said PM Oli is not only the leader of a certain party, he is the executive head of the country, for which he should justify whatever he speaks and NC will seek justification of his words, on behalf of the public.

Speaking about the constitution amendment, Thapa accused PM Oli seems in favor of the constitutional amendment for the sake of two-third majority in the parliament.
