Previously, Oli had a house in Balkot, Bhaktapur, which was set on fire by protesters on September 9 during the Gen Z protests. Since then, the house has remained in ruins.
The family had reportedly donated the Balkot property to the state to be used posthumously. As a result, Oli and his wife have not moved back and have been residing in Gundu since. Basnet announced that the new ‘Oli Kuti’ would be built there.
