KATHMANDU, Dec 17: Voting to elect various posts for the CPN-UML, repeatedly postponed due to technical issues, has finally begun at the party’s 11th General Convention venue, Bhrikutimandap, in the capital. Originally scheduled for 11 AM on Tuesday, the voting started nearly an hour late this morning.
UML to hold district convention on January 7
Contenders for the party chair post, incumbent Chair KP Sharma Oli and Senior Vice-Chair Ishwar Pokhrel, have cast their votes. Delegates have lined up at the venue to elect the new leadership.
From the ongoing general convention, the party will elect one chairman, five vice-chairpersons, one general secretary, three deputy general secretaries, nine secretaries, and 301 central committee members.
