Sarlahi registers 5,800 new voters

SARLAHI, Nov 18: In the wake of the upcoming House of Representatives (HoR) election, a total of 5,817 new voters got their names registered in Sarlahi district, the District Election Office confirmed.  



The District Election Officer, Shiva Narayan Sah said that the new voters include 3,390 men and 2,427 women.

With this, the total number of voters in Sarlahi district has reached 495,821, according to the District Election Office.


Sah stated that the total number of the new voters could be even higher, as the details received from the National Identity Card have not been approved so far. The details received from the National Identity Card will be approved within a few days.    


Likewise, 1,317 voters have registered applications for the correction of their details, Sah added. 


The voter registration process, which began on September 25, ended on November 16. Citizens who reached 18 years of age by March 4, 2026, are eligible to register their names in the voters' name list.
