Solar eclipse occurring tomorrow will cast darkness in America during day, Nepal will not be affected

KATHMANDU, April 7: The solar eclipse occurring on April 8 will cast darkness over America during the day, but it will not be visible from Nepal. According to the report by NASA, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The total solar eclipse will begin over the South Pacific Ocean.

KATHMANDU, April 7: The solar eclipse occurring on April 8 will cast darkness over America during the day, but it will not be visible from Nepal. According to the report by NASA, a total solar eclipse will cross North America, passing over Mexico, the United States, and Canada. The total solar eclipse will begin over the South Pacific Ocean.



Saroj Raj Shahi, observatory manager and information officer of B.P. Koirala Memorial Planetarium, Observatory, and Science Museum Development Board, Kirtipur, Kathmandu, confirmed that Nepal will not be affected by this solar eclipse and it will not be observable from Nepal.

Similarly, earlier this year, Nepal also did not witness the solar eclipses occurring on April 20, 2023, and October 14.


A solar eclipse happens when the sun, moon, and earth align in a straight line. Typically, this astronomical phenomenon occurs when the moon passes between the sun and the earth, resulting in temporary darkness in certain regions.
