KATHMANDU, Nov 17: Nepal Police Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Bishwa Adhikari has been recommended for promotion to Deputy Inspector General (DIG).

The Promotion Recommendation Committee, which met on Monday morning, decided to recommend him for promotion. Adhikari had previously been excluded from the earlier round of promotions, in which five SSPs were elevated to DIG.
Adhikari is currently facing accusations of ordering security personnel to open fire during the Gen Z protest on September 8. After Om Prakash Aryal became Home Minister, Adhikari was transferred to the Police Training Centre.
