ROLPA, Jan 4: Two students were killed and nine others injured in a jeep accident in Rolpa while returning after participating in the President’s Running Shield competition.
The accident occurred at around 10 pm when a Bolero jeep (Ga 1 Ja 6666) carrying students of Nepal National Secondary School lost control and crashed. The vehicle was traveling from Seram of Sunchhahari Rural Municipality–1 toward Syuri, Ward No. 4 of the same municipality.

According to Rolpa Police, the deceased have been identified as 12-year-old Deepa Pun and 12-year-old Sunil Bik of Sunchhahari Rural Municipality–4, Syuri. Doctors at the Primary Health Center in Sulichaur declared them dead upon arrival.
Nine students were seriously injured in the incident.
Rolpa Police Chief Birendra Bir Bishwakarma said the injured were rescued with the help of police and locals and taken to the Primary Health Center in Sulichaur before being referred to Butwal later that night for further treatment.
The tragic death of two young children from the same village has plunged the community into mourning.
