25 coaches get taekwondo 6th dan

KATHMANDU, Aug 21: Nepal Taekwondo Association on Friday conferred six dan award to its 25 coaches. National Sports Council Member Secretary Keshav Kumar Bista handed over the certificates to the graduated coaches.

Among 27 coaches who had applied and appeared for the sixth dan, 25 of them appeared in the 10-day exam and succeeded to achieve the honor, said Deep Raj Gurung, the general secretary of Nepal Taekwondo Association.

According to Gurung, a player must be involved at least for 22 years to get six dan award. Ninth dan is the highest dan award in taekwondo and Gurung is the only person of Nepal to get eighth dan.
