9 ministerial delegations to attend donors' conference

KATHMANDU, June 23: Some 53 teams of delegates have been confirmed to attend the International Conference on Nepal’s Reconstruction slated for June 25, according to Minister for Finance Ram Sharan Mahat.

At the all-party meeting called at the Prime Minister’s residence in Baluwatar on Tuesday on donors' conference, minister Mahat said that government expects some 60 teams of delegates to attend the much-touted conference.

Minister Mahat told the meeting that ministerial delegations from nine countries will participate in the conference.

Lawmaker Kumar Khadka informed that Minister Mahat said that the government anticipates receiving Rs seven billion grant through the conference.

According to Minister Mahat, some countries and donor agencies had proposed to hold the conference outside Nepal.

“Japan and India had proposed to hold conference in their capital cities,” Khadka told Myrepublica quoting Minister Mahat, “While, the World Bank had suggested organizing the conference in Paris.”
