KATHMANDU, March 18: The Supreme Court (SC) issued an interim order instructing Chief Justice Khil Raj Regmi, who is also the head of interim election government, to execute his functions only as head of the executive.
A single bench of Justice Girish Chandra Lal issued the order on Monday responding to a writ petition filed a group of advocates led by Chandra Kanta Gyawali.[break]
The order further says that Regmi should work only as the head of the interim election government till he enjoys that post so that it will not affect the free judiciary’s daily functions.
Regmi has already vowed not to return and make any influence in the apex court until he remains as head of the government.
