The transportation, industries, schools and colleges are forced to close in the district.
But the banda has caused little effect in Dhangadhi and Tikapur town areas.

The Struggle Committee has called an indefinite Terai banda from today demanding an independent investigation committee on the mysterious death of a Kamlari, Shrijana Chaudhari of Dang district.
Likewise, an indefinite banda or general strike has been announced in the district beginning today in protest against the killing of a Kamlari girl in Kathmandu last month.
Over 20 organizations working in the rescue and rehabilitation of the Kamlaris have called for a general strike in 22 districts of the Tarai to protest the murder and calling for fulfilling various demands related to them.
Kamlaris are the indentured domestic help especially the girls from the Tharu community. The practice of keeping Kamlarais was practiced especially in the Tarai districts of the Mid-west and the Far-west regions of the country until a decade back before its abolishment by the State.
However, organizations working for the rights and interests of the Kamlaris say that this type of practice is still in existence.
Public transport vehicles operated on the long and short routes from Mahendranagar, the district headquarters, have stayed off the roads due to the banda. Hundreds of passengers who have returned home from India are stranded at the bus park due to this.
Schools and colleges, factories and market are closed. However, the banda has very little impact in places outside of the district headquarters.
