LALITPUR, April 19: Constituent Assembly Chairman Subas Nembang on Saturday said the current Constituent Assembly was faced with no other options but to draft a federal democratic constitution.

Inaugurating the Bungmati Festival-2072 here, Nembang assured the Nepali people would get a constitution this time around through the voting process if the parties fail to reach a consensus.

Underlining the urgency for a constitution if the country were to develop, CA Chair Nembang drew the attention of the political parties to forge consensus on the contentious issues at the earliest.

On the occasion, he said the festival would help in keeping the civilization, art and culture of Bungmati alive. He termed the festival held with an objective of bringing Bungmati's culture and tradition in the view of the international community as very important.

Likewise, lawmaker Madan Bahadur Amatya said the festival would further contribute in cranking up the development of art and artifacts of the area.

CPN (UML) leader and former Minister Raghuji Pant spoke of the importance of the role of Bungmati's art in making the area popular in the world.

The Festival coordinator Prem Bhakta Maharjan said the festival was held with an aim to promote, develop and conserve Bungmati's art and culture.

On the occasion, CA Chair Nembang launched a souvenir named 'Bungmati'. The festival will be held for five days. RSS
