Candlelight vigil held in memory of Bipin Joshi (Photos)

Joshi had gone to Israel under the “Learn and Earn” agricultural training program. He was abducted by Hamas on October 7, 2023 and his whereabouts remained unknown for a long time before his death was recently confirmed.

KATHMANDU,  Oct 15: Gen-Z youths organized a candlelight vigil on Wednesday evening at Maitighar Mandala, Kathmandu, in memory of Bipin Joshi, the Nepali student who was abducted and subsequently killed by Hamas militants in Palestine.



Gathering at the iconic protest site, the youths paid tribute to Joshi by lighting candles and observing a moment of silence.

Joshi had gone to Israel under the “Learn and Earn” agricultural training program. He was abducted by Hamas on October 7, 2023 and his whereabouts remained unknown for a long time before his death was recently confirmed.


During the vigil, participants expressed deep sorrow over Joshi’s tragic death and extended condolences to his grieving family. They also voiced outrage over the loss of an innocent Nepali student’s life in such a senseless act of violence.
