Chairman Regmi urged this while addressing the seminar on ´Strategic Planning of Agriculture and Forestry University´ jointly organised by the Agriculture and Forestry University (AFU) and Michigan State University (MSU) of USA here on Wdnesday.[break]
The meeting of the Council of Ministers held on May 13 had requested the political parties, which are against the election, to come for talks.
He said, ´We are in process of CA election, it is our inevitable necessity, unavoidable objective and election is only the beginning point of our prosperous future and urged one and all to participate actively in programmes of election of CA by discarding any prejudices and distrust.
Regmi said that the government has been holding regular discussions with political parties for the past few days to finalize CA member election ordinance soon as per its target to hold the election in a free and fair atmosphere by ensuring participation of all parties and inclusion as far as possible.
He clarified that the government was in a hurry to declare the date for CA election by creating election atmosphere by ensuring all election related laws.
On the occasion, Chairman Regmi urged not to neglect originality, relative importance and historical specialties in the competition to modernize the education.
He also requested to give emphasis on education system, nature of work and overall administrative works of university while developing the Strategic Plan of University.
The Plan should maintain a balance between ´Modernism and Fundamentals´ of such education values, added Regmi.
Regmi expressed happiness over the attraction of students in Agriculture and Forestry University during a short period of its establishment.
Expressing concern over the negative impact of image of educational institutions and universities due to different obstacles and hurdles taking place unnecessarily, he urged all the bodies concerned to take efficient educational environment as the first priority in the university.
Similarly, Minister for Education, Madhav Prasad Poudel, said that the government was positive for the further expansion of the AFU. The University is the first technical university in the country.
Minister Poudel expressed the belief that quality change could be made in life of people through the studies of agriculture and forestry.
Vice-Chancellor of AFU, Dr. Kailashnath Pyakuryal, said that there will be a support to the University to produce more skilled human resources if the government gives priority to it.
Director of the International Agriculture Academy at MSU, Gretchen Neisler, said that they are ready to collaborate with AFU of Nepal.
