Child dies in accident

RAJBIRAJ, March 20: A child died after being hit by a truck at Rupnagar VDC, Saptari along the East-West Highway on Wednesday evening. Seven year old Dinesh Bhujel of Rupnagar VDC-5 died on the spot after the truck (Na 4. Kha 2819) ran over him, said Kanchanpur Area Police Office.



Following the death of Bhujel, irate locals had set the truck on fire. The relatives of the deceased and the locals had blocked transport movement along the highway for an hour. The truck driver has been absconding since the incident. [break]



Meanwhile, 31 people were injured when a passenger bus (Na 2 Kha 4256) met with an accident at Raniganj VDC, Sarlahia along the the East West highway. Police said six of the passengers are in a informed that six of the injured at in critical conditions.
