Coca-Cola football tournament from Saturday

KATHMANDU, July 12: The Coca-Cola Cup Football Tournament 2013 organized jointly by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) and Coca-Cola Nepal kicks off on Saturday.



A total of 1,011 boys and 100 girls below 16 years of age from 45 districts are taking part in the school-level football tournament, according to ANFA General Secretary Dhirendra Pradhan. [break]



The district-level competition under the tournament begins in the valley tomorrow involving all the three districts and in the remaining 42 districts from July 20.



The team coming first, second and third will bag a cash prize of Rs. 300,000, Rs. 250,000 and Rs. 75,000 respectively. The fourth will pocket Rs. 50,000.



The event is also being used as a medium to selected probable football players who will be admitted to the ANFA Aacademy. The entire event is expected to cost around Rs. 12.46 million, according to ANFA.
