COVID-19 infection rate continues to decline in India

KATHMANDU, May 27: The infection rate from the second wave of the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease has decreased in the last few days in India. There are currently 2,419,107 active cases of COVID-19 in the country.

KATHMANDU, May 27: The infection rate from the second wave of the coronavirus (COVID-19) disease has decreased in the last few days in India. There are currently 2,419,107 active cases of COVID-19 in the country. 



According to the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, as many as 75,684 people recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. On May 10, India recorded the highest number of COVID-19 infections in a day.

However, the death rate has not decreased as predicted. As stated by the ministry, 3,847 people died from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours. So far, 315,235 people in India have succumbed to the virus.


As many as 211,298 cases of COVID-19 were recorded in the last 24 hours. With this, the total number of infections has reached 273.69 million in India. According to the Health Council Of India, more than 336.9 million people have been tested so far. 


As stated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, more than 202.6 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered to the general public in India.
