DFC's promising start in International Goldcup -2072

Ilam, April 19: The DFC, Morang has made a promising start in the Mangalbare International Goldcup-2072 tournament by beating the Rising Star (RS) Rab, Panchthar.

The tournament, organized jointly by the Tribeni Youth Club and Mangalbare Chamber of Commerce and Industry, kicked off here Saturday.


The DFC, Morang defeated the RS, Panchthar by 5-4 in a tie-breaker. As both the teams were 1-1 in regulation time the game went to a tie breaker to decide the winner.

Six teams from Ilam, Jhapa, Panchthar, Sunsari, Dhankuta and Morang districts and two from Darjeeling and Sikkim are vying in the tournament that will last until April 26.

The winner will take home a cash prize Rs 1,11,111 and the runner up will get Rs 61,111. RSS
