Drama For Family Value Education

KATHMANDU, Nov 13: Global Peace Women- women division of Global Peace Foundation Nepal- showcased its drama series ‘Paral Ko Aago’ and ‘Tito Mitho Sambandha’ at Deepsikha Secondary School, Sorhakhutte on Saturday.



On the occasion, Program Officer of Global Peace Foundation, Sandhya Acharya, introduced the Theatre Forum that has been running since January 31, 2016 in various public arenas across the country.

The Theatre Forum has been showcasing plays under the theme of family value education encompassing the issues of domestic violence, unstable marital relationships, feud between in-laws and gender inequality. "Our main agenda is to reach maximum audience and create a meaningful impact for total behavioral change," said Acharya.


The team of actors has been moving around the country to address various social issues and the audiences are asked to voice their opinions by stopping each drama in the climax. The narrator then explains how the situation should have been handled positively and conveys the unique role of women in a family; parents’ role in a child’s development, gender equality and role of family for a peaceful society.
