The meeting held Federal Socialist Forum-Nepal's office in Kathmandu will continue on Wednesday and is expected to chalk out new protest programs by bringing together differing views of the alliance member parties.
“In today's meeting, leaders forwarded their party's suggestions on the new forms of agitation. Tomorrow's meeting is expected to give final touch to the new protest plan by incorporating today's suggestions,” said Manish Suman, general secretary of the Sadbhavana Party.
“While some member parties have stressed on launching Kathmandu-centric protest programs immediately, others have stressed on launching intensive protest programs only after running an awareness campaign until mid May," he informed.
While leaders from Janajati parties stressed on forcing the government to address their demands by launching capital-centric protests, Madhes-based parties stressed on launching protest campaigns in all 75 districts at once, Suman said.
"The alliance will give continuity to the demands raised by the UDMF previously. It is an achievement of the protest conducted by the UDMF that all the indigenous communities and ethnicity-based parties have now joined us," he asserted.
Meeting with diplomats
Meanwhile, the Federal Alliance has planned to hold meeting with diplomats in Kathmandu on Thursday. The alliance has sent invitation to the embassies and international agencies in Kathmandu.
"We have invited diplomats for a meeting at 3 pm on Thursday at the Radisson Hotel. This program is planned to brief the diplomats about the current situation in Madhes, the concept of the Federal Alliance and its disagreements on the new constitution," said Suman.
