KRISHNANAGAR, Nov 10: Fire spread from a burning candle destroyed altogether five houses at Shivaraj municipality-10 in Kapilvastu district on Saturday night.
The thatched roof houses belonging to Shiva Prasad Arakh, Santaram Loniya, Chandra Loniya, Ram Murat Murau and Banshinath Loniya were destroyed by the fire, ward police office Chandrauta confirmed.

Property worth around Rs 200,000 was reduced to ashes in the fire, forcing the victims spend the night under the open sky, according to a local, Damodar Mishra.
The fire, however, caused no human casualty.
