KATHMANDU, July 18: Government employees affiliated to Nepal National Civil Servant Organization, Civil Servant National Committee, National Independent Employee Reunion Centre and Government and Corporation Drivers’ Association staged a dharna at the Ministry of Finance on Monday as well.

Terming the salary hike by the government an injustice, they staged a sit-in for two hours demanding that salary be reviewed.[break]

They demanded that salaries of all employees should be increased in the same scale and increasing price hike and corruption should be controlled.

The agitating government employees rounded all the ministries inside the premises of Singha Durbar and converged into an assembly at the Ministry of General Administration.

Chairman of National Independent Employee Reunion Centre Krishna Bhandari said the dharna was staged to press the government to equally hike salaries of all government employees from lower to upper level. “If the government doesn’t address our demands, a stern agitation will be launched,” he said.
