KATHMANDU, Nov 16: The government honored the Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket and Departmental Store on Saturday for paying the highest taxes in commodity trade.
Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket's Chief Operating Officer (COO), Panu Datta Poudel, said that the Inland Revenue Department (IRD) honored Bhat-Bhateni Supermarket as the highest taxpayer in the commodity trade for the fiscal year 2022/23.

Amid a special program organized by the IRD on the occasion of Tax Day on Saturday, Finance Minister Bishnu Paudel honored Bhat-Bhateni Chairman and Managing Director Min Bahadur Gurung.
Last year as well, Gurung was at the forefront of paying the highest taxes in commodity and trade.
