As winter approaches, you prepare yourself to fight against the cough and cold and several viral fever with nutritious diets and even necessary medication.



Similarly, your garden plants also need to prepare themselves for the cold, and you can help them stay healthy by providing them with some extra micronutrients and necessary pesticides.[break]



After a one-on-one talk with Bharat Prasad Nepal, proprietor of Agricultural Trading Center at New Road Gate in Kathmandu, here are our picks on what you can use:


Magic



This seaweed extract-based organic growth activator is a recommended choice for the healthy growth of your garden plants. The natural non-polluting solution can be used by directly spraying on to the plants’ shoot area, or mixed during soil irrigation as well.



The seaweed aids plants health and growth as it releases locked-up vitamins and minerals from the soil as well as reduces unwanted weed growth.







Use: Mix 10 drops of Magic concentrated solution in one liter of water and spray it over the foliage and soil, or as directed on the label of the bottle. Do this every week for the winter.

HB-101 Natural Plant Vitalizer



This concoction is also 100% chemical-free, and it helps the plants remain healthy in any kind of weather condition. The vitalizer improves the plant’s ability of intake of nutrients and fertilizers from the soil. It strengthens the immune system of plants which makes them more resistant to diseases during winter.



Use: Mix two drops of HB-101 vitalizer in one liter of water and spray it over the plants. Do it every 10 or 15 days.

Multineem



This product, being completely natural, is an eco-friendly organic pesticide alternative. The neem-based pesticide is not only affective for a wide range of crop pests, including mites, but it can also be helpful in preventing fungi that cause diseases in your garden plants as well. As the product leaves no toxic residues, it causes no harm to animals or human beings, either.



Use: Make a diluted solution of one liter with 5ml of the Multineem solution and spray it over the plants and soil.
