KATHMANDU, March 6: Political advisor of Prime Minister Baburam Bhattarai, Devendra Paudel on Wednesday claimed that incumbent government would hold the new elections if Chief Justice (CJ)-led government could not be materialized.

Speaking at an interaction program in the capital, Paudel said main opposition parties including Nepali Congress (NC) and CPN-UML should be handed over the major ministries in the Bhattarai-led cabinet to go for polls if new government could not be formed under the leadership of sitting CJ.[break]

Speaking at the same program, NC leader Shekhar Koirala ruled out the any possibility of holding new elections even in mid-October under the CJ-led government.

He accused the UCPN-Maoist of conspiring to diffuse the oppositions’ anti-government movement by bringing in the proposal of CJ-led government.
