Maharjan leaves for coaching training

KATHMANDU, April 9: Former assistant coach of Nepali national football team Bal Gopal Maharjan is leaving for Germany on Tuesday to participate in the European Attachment Course, an advanced coaching course sponsored by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).



Maharjan, who has also coached top flight outfits Three Star Club and Manang Marshyangdi Club in the past, will be participating in the eight-day course to held from April 12-20 in Cologne, Germany. [break]



"It is a great opportunity for me and will be beneficial to me as well as Nepali football," said the excited 40-year-old coach. Maharjan had completed the AFC Project Future Graduate Coaching Course in 2009.



According to Maharjan, he will also get an opportunity to watch two matches of Bundesliga, Germany´s top flight football league.



Maharjan will receive training on the theoretical and practical aspects of coaching. Maharjan will stay at Hennes Weissler Academy during the training period.
