After the dead body was recovered from the furniture shop with a sharp weapon lodged in its neck, the police launched an investigation into the gruesome murder on Thursday night.
It was during the investigation that the police found that the murder was linked to the dispute over the woman, who had rented a room near the furniture. Just hours before the murder, Ranjit and Mantu had clashed and threatened each other to keep distance from the woman.
Mantu was sleeping in the furniture shop when Ranjit attacked him with a sharp weapon and killed him. According to the police, Ranjit first tried to mislead the police by saying that he had seen a stranger enter the room and murder his colleague. The accused has been sent to Metropolitan Police Range Office for further action.
